General Graduate School Smart City Planning and Real Estate Department Implementation Rules Enforcement : 2025.03.01.
Article 1 (Purpose)

① The purpose of these regulations is to establish the detailed requirements for obtaining a degree in the above graduate school department.

② Those who intends to obtain a degree must satisfy all the requirements stipulated in the Graduate School Regulations, Graduate School Regulations Implementation Rules, the Graduate School Internal Regulations, and these Implementation Rules regarding degree acquisition.

Article 2 (Educational Objectives)

① The educational objectives of the department are as follows.

1. To foster urban planning, urban development, urban operation, and real estate experts for solving current and future urban and real estate problems based on ICT smart technology and data analysis technology.

2. To foster smart city and real estate experts who participate in global academic trends and have international competitiveness.

Article 3 (Career Fields)

① The career fields of the department are as follows.

1. Academics and researchers (government-funded research institutes and local government researchers)

2. State-owned enterprises and public officials (public corporations, local government officials)

3. Professional practitioners (construction companies, appraisal companies, real estate companies, financial companies, multinational corporations and international organizations, etc.)

4. 4th Industrial Business Development (start-up establishment in urban and real estate sectors)

Article 4 (Basic Curriculum Structure)

① Those who wish to graduate (complete) from the Department of Smart City Real Estate must complete the major required, major elective, and common subject credits specified in [Table 1] Basic Curriculum Structure Table and <Appendix 1> Curriculum Composition Table.

② Subjects offered by other graduate school departments that are not included in the <Appendix 1> Curriculum Composition Table are recognized as major electives within the scope of the credits for other departments in [Table 1].

③ Prerequisite credits are not included in graduation credits.

④ Doctoral students who have completed the major required courses in the master's program of this department may replace the major subjects with other subjects with the approval of the department chair.

Article 5 (Curriculum)

① The curriculum is as follows.

1. The curriculum Composition table is as shown in <Appendix 1>.

2. The course description is as shown in <Appendix 2>.

Article 6 (Prerequisite Subjects)

① The following persons must complete the prerequisite subjects as follows.

1. Applicants: Those who have entered a department (major) different from the department (major) of the lower degree program

2. Credits required for prerequisite courses: 9 credits for master's course and 12 credits for doctoral and combined courses in the lower degree program

② If you apply for credit transfer among subjects completed in the lower degree program before admission and receive approval from the head of the relevant department after confirmation by the academic advisor and epartment chair, the credits may be recognized as prerequisites.

Article 7 (Recognition of Subjects from Other Departments)

① With the approval of the academic advisor and the department head, students may take courses from other departments in the Graduate School and be recognized as major electives within the scope of the [Table 1] Recognized Credits from Other Departments.

② If a department or major is changed due to a transfer, it can be recognized as a major elective within the scope of credits recognized by other departments in [Table 1] with the approval of the department head.

③ In the case of subjects exceeding the scope of recognition from other departments, it may be recognized through a department meeting.

Article 8 (Completion of Common Graduate School Courses)

① If a student takes a “common course” (convergence education course) offered by graduate school to all graduate students, it can be recognized as a major elective with the approval of the advisor and department head.

Article 9 (Completion)

① Completion is recognized only for those who have completed the course corresponding to Article 4 and met all requirements set forth in the higher regulations such as the graduate school regulations, internal regulations, and other higher-level regulations.

② Those eligible for prerequisite credits must obtain the prescribed prerequisite credits. However, prerequisite credits are not included in the completion credits.

③ Only credits recognized in other departments and common subjects are recognized as completion credits as stipulated in each article above.

Article 10 (Graduation)

① Graduation is recognized only for those who have met all of the graduation requirements, including Article 9, degree qualification examination, degree thesis, and thesis publication requirements.

Article 11 (Degree Qualification Examination)

① In order to apply for the submission of a degree thesis, one must pass the degree qualification examination (public presentation).

② The degree qualification examination (public presentation) is a public presentation on the research topic of the degree thesis.

- Applicants can take the exam in the semester in which the degree thesis is submitted.

- The public presentation must be attended by at least three full-time professors of the affiliated department, including the thesis advisor. However, if there are less than three full-time professors of the affiliated department, a professor appointed by the thesis advisor may attend.

- The public presentation may be attended by anyone.

- The attending professors or the audience may ask the presenter questions related to the thesis, and the presenter must answer the questions.

Article 12 (Research Paper Publication Performance)

① In order to obtain a degree, a research paper publication performance must be submitted separately from the degree thesis.

② The requirements for research paper publication performance shall follow the internal regulations of the graduate school.

② Transitional Measures: Students who entered before the effective date of these enforcement regulations shall follow the curriculum of the previous department, but if necessary, may apply a new curriculum with the approval of the department head after a department meeting.

[Supplementary Provision 5]

① Effective Date: 2024.03.01.

② Transitional Measures: Students who entered prior to the effective date of these enforcement regulations shall follow the curriculum of the old department, but if necessary, may apply a new curriculum after a department meeting and with the approval of the department head.

[Supplementary Provision 6]

① Effective Date: 2025.03.01.

② Transitional Measures: Students who entered prior to the effective date of these enforcement regulations shall follow the curriculum of the old department, but if necessary, may apply a new curriculum after a department meeting and with the approval of the department head.
